Albinoleffe v Piacenza has a smell about it

Worth noting that Italian games typically have more draws than in England, for example you'd often see odds in (presumably non-bent!) games at around 3.0-3.1 for the draw compared to England where it is rarely under 3.3. Likewise the Over/Under 2.5 goals market, most italian games under 2.5 is clear favourite.

One exception in Serie B where I had a few bets in midseason on was Pescara, was bizarre their games were often pretty high scoring, massively higher than average. Looking at the table for example:

They scored 90 goals, next highest was 63
They conceded 55 goals, which was basically double that of the team in second place
Total goals 145 compared to 2nd place (equal points) with 85 goals. To have 60 more total goals than a team with equal points is pretty crazy.
Seemed to have quite a few matches with 6 goals in, usually 4-2 or 6-0.

Obviously you'd expect different attitudes from different teams but pretty rare you see one team with such a massive difference to everyone else.

There is a reason to that though :P Genuine question, do you watch Italian football? And do you watch games like Milan - Lecce? (bog team vs small team)

Small teams don't attack one bit. They let 10 players stay behind the ball and suck you in. Like Chelsea did, but you don't see many (if any) games like that in the EPL. Therefore, you will see much less goals.

I know what you are saying about Pescara. The Pescara coach, Zeman, is a very experienced coach, who just loves an attacking 4-3-3 formation. He had a very good strike force, composed of Immobile (juve) and Insigne (Napoli). he has a great 19 year old midfielder (called up for the provisional 30 man Italy squad) named Verratti, who is dubbed the new Pirlo. Personally, I am not surprised at all that they have that many goals with that coach. (They also had other good players, not just those 3).

Personally, I think all the leagues have corruption. In Italy though, they get caught, and in true Italian fashion, they make a huge do about it. Trust me, EVERYWHERE there is corruption.

 FM12 gold! Is he good in real life?? Got a mate who swears by him blindly!

Yeah, I had got him on FM too.

Yeah, he is great! As I said, he is already being named as the new Pirlo. All big Italian teams want him, Juve, Inter, Milan, Roma etc. been called up to the provisional 30 man team for the EURO 2012, but was removed when he chose 23. Pescara chairman says he is worth 15M

Unbelievable! Just thought it was one of those FM slightly over rate moments but he looks amazing, looks really good at bringing different parts of the team into play, the perfect midfielder. Probably worth the 15m
