Hey guys,

As the Topic says, what albums do you have that you really really like, but for some reason, just cant listen to, say, the whole way through in one sitting as you find yourself getting bored, even though its ace...

I'll start the ball rolling...

Um, what do you mean? :p

You mean albums I recognize are influential/classic etc. but don't actually like? If I actually enjoy the music I'm listening to then I tend not to get bored. Maybe you have musical ADD or something. :p

Hmmm, maybe i am weird then, but there must be others on this forum!! :)

Also, i never said anything about disliking...

i dont think its possible to love something you find boring lol

the only albums i love are the few i can listen to from start to finish and at the end want to hear it all again

No i dont mean i find them boring, just that... well, my mind wanders even though i really like the album, and i find myself wanting to listen to something else...

So yes, i must have musical ADD :p

Do you mean albums that you've played to death, and even though you love them, you just can't quite listen to them all the way through?

Of the top of my head,

Annihilator - 'Alice in Hell', one of the great metal albums of all time and I can't listen to it because my turntable is cream crackered!

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antenna to Heaven

2 Discs, about an hour and a half in total. It's one of those albums, like DSOTM, that "looses" a lot music-wise when you don't fully concentrate on it. Finding the free time to just sit down and listen to it is tricky :)

Albums I have played to death:

Justice - † (Already)
Pendulum - Hold Your Colour
The Postal Service - Give Up
Anberlin - Never Take Friendship Personal
We Are Scientists - With Love and Squalor

For me now, I still love the artists but have to have breaks/shuffle when listening to them, although Justice have loads of remixes about so I can listen to them fine, When you start listening to a song and as soon as you listen to the end of the song, you expect the next one, is a bit rubbish so I shuffle albums. :)

when i listen to music, it's pretty much an album at a time with no skipping tracks. :o

the only album i'm bored with at the moment is because of the times by kings of leon. played that one a bit too much when it came out. :p

I can't listen to any album all the way through because I get bored.
Even my most favourite albums I can only listen to about 4 tracks max before I move onto something else.

Ooh yeah, I completely agree.

Also Doll Doll Doll by Venetian Snares - breathtaking, pummelling, intelligent, creepy and intense; too intense to properly digest in one sitting.

Oh, and The Flowers Of Romance by Public Image Limited. Again, a mighty album, just the combination of furious pounding drums, John Lydon's wailing and jam-session synth stabs gets under my skin.

Sounds like you should be buying Greatest Hits compilations. Your favourite band with your favourite album how can it be boring?

I have every Greatest Hits/Best Of's by virtually every band who's made them.
In fact I've made my own compilation DVD's at work full of Best Of's but I still get bored after a few songs.
Just remember I'm 49 so if I put anything on I've heard it a million times so i like to move on and I tend to listen to Planet Rock all day instead.
My fave listening time is when I'm running because I will choose a new album and listen to it all the way through buts that because I'm concentrating on my run more than the music.
Current albums to look forward to and they will get played all the way through but perhaps only once -
Clawfinger - Life Will Kill You
Megadeth - United Abominations
Devildriver - The Last Kind Words
Municipal Waste - The Art Of Partying
