As I predicted 2 weeks ago the 12900k will become the new king for setting cpu and gpu world records

and it didn't take long, the 12900k has just smashed the single and multi core Geekbench world records held by the 5950x and 11900k. Now just waiting for the first 3D Mark tests to set new GPU records

The 12900k overclocked to 6.8ghz on P cores and 5.3ghz on E cores has scored 2740 single core points and 26650 points in multicore. Smashing the 5950x's 16 Core CPU world record by nearly 30% and and the single core world record held by the 11900k by 20%

Those numbers can't be right?

The World record is (unsurprisingly) held by the 3990X with 100032 points, the 5950X tops at 88527 points.

No need to over egg it. It looks like the big cores will be an improvement, but the small cores will likely be disappointing in comparison.

I strongly suspect Intel is having difficulty producing a 10 core CPU (large cores) on their 10nm fab. process, so settled with 8 + 8 small cores.

The semi-accurate article said Intel was still getting poor yields on their latest 10nm node.

Sodding flippers! We've become the thing we hate the most lol.

Interesting that Intel slides focus on the 129 and 126 but not 127.

I have a feeling the 127 is the real champ here for price and performance.

Yes, because the small cores probably won't do much for performance in most tasks.

You can expect them to perform similarly to comet lake cores, but clocked a bit lower, on that basis though, you should still see similar performance vs similarly clocked Comet Lake cores, but with more cores in the same amount of die space.

The ##70 always is, its always been a good middle ground in their line, they are the same chip as the ##90 but cheaper, you can understand why Intel would rather sell the ##90, the ##60 is a smaller CPU.

I'm not big on abusing the 2 week return policy like that, but selling them for profit yeah that might be an idea if initial stock on them is low :)

So long as it's unopened and the box doesn't look like it's been used in a football match then OCUK can still sell as new and are not really losing out.

Oh i see, first place google took me was the Geekbench hall of fame and yes that's 4 not 5 :)

It looks like they did test in geekbench 4 as well and the 12900k beat that all core 6ghz 5950x score in GB4 but didn't beat the all core 4.4ghz 3990x
