Aliens channel four friday ninth sept 2011

I have watched aliens many many times over the years.
What version are they showing on channel four?
Just seen 'newts family' drive a dodgy truck to the downed alien ship, and collect a face hugger.
Don't ever recall any such scenes in any previous version.

Anyone seen this version before?

It's in all of them isn't it? I don't think I've ever seen Aliens without that scene it it.

Edit: Saying that Wiki says it's in the Special Edition.

There's only one scene in this Special Edition which I think is stupid. Stupid as in cringeworthy really. See if you spot it.

it doesn't, the sentry guns are not a major thing but they do add to the film, as does showing the colony imo. i can't watch any other version now tbh same as i can't watch the theatre release of alien 3, the directors cut of alien 3 is a much more complete and better film imo.

i thought they did. there's a bit in this edition where there's two of them, i'm sure it was different and slightly longer than the original. unless i just didn't notice it before? i thought it was a case of ripley asking where the corp wanted the stuff, he said 'over there' and then the scene cuts whereas the SE scene has two of them and is a little longer. we'll soon see

I love the extra sentry gun footage wish there was a bit more of that

theres about 15 minutes worth of good extra footage (not sure how much extra there is in total in the SE version).

I know this is only a film but I find it amazing that Newt manages to stay hidden from the aliens for the length of time she does. I think I'd top myself after a day due to a nervous breakdown.
