Alienware curved monitor 2880x900 rez...

Ugh that will teach me for looking at the pics more closely... I can see the deep back of it now. Rear projection = suck though.

Look's horrid to be fair, and the res isn't that great considering the size of it

Still, bet it makes for a good immersive experience playing games

See the bands where the four screens join? Looks nasty. I also don't like the kinda fish-eye effect you get towards the edge of such wide displays. Might still be lots of fun to use though. Think it would suit racing games more than shooters.

The 4 screen split thing theyve said will be sorted before release :).

Maybe for game use I guess it's nice to have that FOV, but really I'd rather use my 37" also for web browsing and movie/tv shows it's gonna look retarded.

Yeah I'd agree, it'd be nice for games but everything else on that won't look very nice. Resolution is kinda low as well I would have expected higher as it's apparantly the size of dual 24" monitors but the resolution is 1440x900, just doubled on the horizontal which is the resolution of a standard 19" widescreen monitor.

I'd rather just use a normal widescreen monitor for gaming personally... infact I even only use a 19" WS for multiplayer because I find larger displays = more space for my eyes to travel over slowing down how fast I process a scene...

For workstation useage I'd rather have 3-4 seperate monitors as then you can snap each application to a specific display when maximised...

It looks so cool but i wouldn't pay much more than £300 for a monitor so i don't think i'll be getting that anytime soon lol

What sort of graphics power though would be needed to run that thing at native res, not to mention the hideous stretching of games that don't support that kind of resolution (I know there are fixes for some games out there).

Also, seen as this is basically just four screens jammed together with the bezels removed would one of those fancy Matrox triple head things be neede just to run it or is that included in the massive rear end of the screen.

Still though, great idea and would love to see it in real-life, just not on my desk.
Be great to see proper 2.35:1 ratio screens on the market with a slight curve on them as once they start to use OLEDs I would imagine they would allow the production of curved screens.
