All Season Tyres

Funny you say about your artic, last year I lived on a main road which is on a fair sized up hill. A Morrisons artic failed half way up at least two-three hours before any cars got stuck.

Sounds like an a mateur. ;) - I've been driving a long time, lets not mention my "learning curve" though....:D :o;)

How will a day on a skid pan help you drive up a steep icy/snowy hill???

I think part of it is we are more reliant on the roads now than we ever have been, people travel further to work, more cars on the road

Try it mate, I can only assume by your comment, you've not been lucky enough to have a day at a skid pan.

I found it made the world of difference to the way I can now control an HGV in slippery conditions compared to how I used to get by, which was I freely admit, poor.

As for you saying its down to us being more reliant on the roads, sure, we are. Sadly though, many many average Joe motorists have no clue how to drive to the conditions, be it rain, hail, snow or shine. We are not taught to drive properly alas.

You sound like my grandad

"Back in t'day, during the war, we never had cars, LUXURY ! i tell yer. You young 'uns now-a-days, you dont know yer born i tell thee"

Oh Christ! mate, I know.... :o:o:o :D
