MICROSOFT HAS admitted that all the 11.6 million faulty Xbox 360s sold in the last 19 months are faulty.

In a statement, Volish spinsters said that all of the consoles suffer from a design flaw which could cause the machine to fail.

However, the outfit said that while it is extending the warranty coverage from one to three years to compensate consumers, it had no plans to recall or exchange the boxes.

Volish gaming supremo Robbie Bach refused to say what the problem is, but said that units currently in stock will be upgraded.

So they finally got to the bottom of it?

Yeah looks like it, unless it's just more lies in an attempt to shake off the bad reputation the console has gotten lately reliability-wise.

I’m sorry this is just inexcusable, they have been knowingly selling faulty units for over 19 months now

ms should taken and forced to give every customer a new unit, and by this I don’t mean when they eventually break i mean now.

They probably didn't know every unit was faulty until a good few months after that though, still the number of faults should be considerably lower later this year I guess.

Fair enough, for the last 12 months then, we all know that there was a high number of faults with the 360 and ms would have know better than any one what they failure rates were yet they just continued manufacture them and ship them out the back door.

Are you telling me with MS's vast resources they couldn’t find and fix the problem ?

What are the chances of me getting one of those upgraded 360 units if I was to buy one from a high street shop in a few days time?

the poo has defo hit the fan now with this my xbox died (no ROD but no AV output at all) so i gess its going to be the full month before i see mine again. (there repair center got in on tuseday)

yeah i agree with you. If there extending the warranty to cover only the 3 red rings then they should do it for everything. If they admitted it was a broken product to being with then surely by law they would have to or something ?

Bloody hell!!!! they finally admitted the 360 was borked.

Im amazed me, i always said they were ******, and i got flamed to hell in that 360 faulty poll thread, what a shame eh, bet those flamers are eating their words now, 'nothing wrong with the 360','its normal' 'if your on 6+ its your own fault for keeping them in cupboards, on top of radiators' etc... etc... lmfao. :D :D

Im gona be taking orders for some humble pie. :p

They are gits.
I had the three red lights on mine, binned it. 24 Hours after putting it out for the bin men they tell me the warranty is now three years. A week later they admit that they where all knackered anyway. could have saved myself £190 on a replacement...
Corporations do my nut in sometimes, always bigger than their customers and full of smoke and mirrors all the time -
"The failiure rates are industry standard",
"There is no overheating problem, its people wrapping the 360's in loft insulation that's causing it",
"It's because you are not hanging your PSU by a bit of wire suspending it in space".
"Errrm, we put a new cooling device in there in line with 'constant improvements"
"OK we admit it, we cut corners to get it to market quick. Its broke"
Gaaaaahhhh!!!

It's illegal to sell inherently faulty products. If Microsoft admit to this (or it can be proven) then every man and his dog who bought a 360 can throw the book at them.
