Recently picked up an A4 and was thinking about getting it some new shoes :)

Its a Silver 99 2.5 V6 TDI , dont really know much about wheel and tire sizes etc so im not sure what size could be bolted onto there.

Anyone wanna recommend any particular makes / models of alloys which would look good on a silver A4? :D

Its all about these:

Yeah, I saw those on an other A4 round the corner from where I work, they look nice but I was looking for something a bit bigger :P Wanna fill the wheel arch a little more with alloy rather than rubber

Bigger alloys always make the wheel arch gaps look even bigger though. You want to get it lowered as well :)

Not sure whether Id want to get it lowered :P dont wanna have to slow down to 1mph to get over speed humps etc

Trying to improve looks without affecting functionality if you get what I mean :)

My car is lowered 40mm and has skirts and front and rear bodykit(bumpers) and I still managed to get over humps with ease. So there is always a compromise.. most of the decent 35mm spring and shock kits with lower you a little but also greatly increase handling.

Like PA said, if you get bigger rims, you'll actually increase the amount of space between the edge of your tyre and wheelarch. You'll need to get it lowered if you're going for the 'filled arches' look.

Sticking larger wheels on a car without some lowering gives it a 4x4 stance :)

by just having larger alloys there will be a bigger gap between arch and wheel (as mentioned already), to reset this you lower the car by 30-40mm. This isnt a drastic drop but it makes a lot of difference to the look of the car. Makes the alloys look more standard on the car :]

Had a quick look around but most of the sites selling OEM wheels are all in the US :S

Any decent UK sites?

I'm after some RS4 wheels for my own A4 but be very careful when buying RS4 wheels for the A4. Many places sell them for the A3/TT and these will NOT fit on an A4 as the stud diameter is different. If you buy genuine versions, they tend to be quite a bit cheaper than the A4 fitting.

Some of the replicas do have dual fitment but they can be very poor quality. You get what you pay for so to speak. If you order a set from the main dealers you'll be looking around £2-2.5K. The genuine eBay ones tend to go for around £500-800 plus you may need to buy the centre caps on top which are around £50 per set.
