Michigan iPod repairman Nicholas Woodhams thought that he had beat the system. He discovered a way to manipulate Apple’s iPod repair and warranty programs to obtain 9,000 free iPods which he then re-sold for a tidy profit, reports Ars Technica.

How can Apple not see 9000 iPods go missing? Surely they have not of seen a pattern?

Logitech also do this, tell them the serial number of the keyboard/mouse etc. They would send a new unit out and ask that the USB plug from the defective unit be cut off and sent back to them. I have had 2 items replaced over the years and HAVE sent the plugs back as requested but I would imagine they also have been conned in the past.

Loop holes in most systems until they get silly and realise there's something going on.

Apparently some bloke in the USA conned Logitech out of $1000's before they realised.

Simple, just get the very cheapest Logitech USB product used from eBay and slice the USB end off it and send that back. Then just ask for your mate's G19 serial number.
