Am I asking too much? Budget amp/decoder.

Got myself a ONKYO 605 for £150, it seems to tick all the boxes :-)

Just need to get myself some speakers now: I've got about £100 left, but no idea what to get. I'm pretty dead set on 5.1 rather than stereo, but the audiophiles over on AVForum don't really seem to get that I'm not after sound quality (along with the fact that I guess few of them actually bother with cheap speakers), so I'm struggling to find the pick of the budget stuff.

I'm intending to get a 5.1 package set, and place them like this: Red is furniture I can't put anything on, green is furniture I can put the speakers on. Yellow is the planned position of left/center/sub/right, purple is the planned position of the amp, and orange is my existing PC. White is approximately where the viewer will be.

Although I think I'll lower the higher up speaker to the same level for film viewing. It's not ideal, but I think it'll work okay?

Then later I'll be upgrading the front 3 speakers (left/center/right) to bookshelves, and demote the left/right to the 7.1 surround (when I'm at home, uni will stay 5.1)

Any advice on the speakers to buy? Budget target is 100-150, but I can stretch to 200 at a push. This is just for the first 5.1 set, bookshelf speakers will come later.

I wasn't disparaging your comment, just pointing out that 3d wasn't important :-)

I don't really get the need for Ethernet over HDMI, I can't see a purpose. Higher resolutions I'm all for, but the budget just doesn't stretch at the moment.
