No big Fire HD for the UK according to the BBC, mind you they're also calling the Paperwhite Paperweight so take that with a pinch of salt.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9" Looks amazing, any idea if that will make it over seas to us

Kindle Fire HD 7: £159 (think proper Nexus 7 competitor with 16GB storage)
No Kindle Fire HD 8.9 yet. (think full iPad 3 competitor)

I wish the Paperwhite had page turn buttons, they're so much better than swiping a screen. I really dislike how everything has gone touchscreen only now.

More or less the same, not to sure about the SoC, it has better storage as standard as it starts at 16gb thou and topping off at 32gb.
On a side note, anyone know if these will ever get some stock android love, I dont care too much for amazons crap.

The feeling is mutual here, i like holding my kindle one handed and just clicking my thumb to turn the page.
Possibly through some modding over at XDA, but definitely not through Amazon. Take a look at the forums for the original kindle fire over at XDA developers, if there's some stock android ROMS for that, then it's a decent bet they will be able to make them for this too.
Kindle Fire HD 8.9 at $299 is pretty remarkable. Comes at a full $100 cheaper than the iPad 2.
1200P IPS display for $299. iPad 3 will get its sales seriously dented.

Going by wiki, it is indeed the same chip from the GN.

And for $120 that's a good deal - might have to give the Kindle Keyboard to the wife and get me a new one

So for general usage I imagine it would be fine, obviously cannot say for sure without playing with one.
Not sure what the GPU is like on these OMAPs though...
