I was reading a blog like I usually do and I'm really angry at what the new government plans are for ambulances:

Basically, they wan't to change how ambulances are manned. They currently have either 2 EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) or an EMT and a Paramedic. A paramedic can administer a few more drugs than an EMT, but both are fully trained in lifesaving treatment. Now, they want to have only one EMT or Paramedic and have the other person only as a 'driver'.

This change could really put people at risk. The worst thing is that this has really gone under the radar for the media and unions. Any thoughts?

Better imo. No point in paying for 2 medically trained personal when 1 will do. The driver will be able to concentrate more on driving.

My mate's trying to become a paramedic at the moment.
Nobody knows what's happening yet, the training courses are yet to be organised, hell last I heard they still didn't know how the Uni courses were going to be laid out...
Good organisation all round!
