Hey everyone,

Just bought a 5950x with an Asus Prime X570-Pro after being on Intel for ages...

Built everything up and the yellow DRAM light was showing up whenever it booted, so I tried the usual swap out the RAM to each slot with a known working RAM module, light still on.

Figured it would be a BIOS update but I'm unable to get past the DRAM light being on, I read that Asus boards could power on without CPU, so took the 5950x out to see if it would and now it won't even turn on with the CPU back in.

I figured it would be a BIOS support issue but without being able to get past the Q LEDs I can't update the bios and it now looks as though the motherboard just isn't booting full stop...

Ive raised an RMA but just wondering if there's anything I can do before sending it back as I'm currently without a PC.

Thanks everyone, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Sounds like you need to flash the BIOS for Zen3 support, but this motherboard doesn't support BIOS Flashback to do so without a CPU.

Yep, sounds like too early BIOS not supporting CPU properly.
And (besides crappy X570 chipset cooler) Asus charges extra for basic feature of USB BIOS Flashback.
