AMD 64 X2 3800+ Bottleneck?

Hi all im considering buying the Leadtek 8800 GTS 640MB to run in my system. Just wondering if my processor will be a bottleneck for it?


Worried about these:

AMD 64 X2 3800+ @ 2ghz
2gb Geil Value DDR 3200 3-3-3-8
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe Mobo

Yes it will to a certain extent but i wouldnt worry to much about it.

im just worried. Currently I have 2 7900 GS's in SLI. I wont be going the SLI route with the 8800. Im just wanting to be able to run oblivion on maximum. Do you think it would be ok?

I think it should be fine, once you crank up those graphics settings the G card will be doing most of the work.

Not all games as as CPU dependant, example would be FEAR, seems the new buzz word since Cod2 etc.

Sounds good to me. I nearly went for the 2900XT 512 but changed my mind after seeing some of the benchmarks on the t'interweb. At the same price as the XT it seems the best way to go.
