AMD 9850 Black Edition

3 didnt work, posted fine but wouldnt let me into windows, while i was waiting for the cmos to clear put some new TIM on my 9600GT, dropped temps by 5c. looks like 2.8 is the sweet spot for this CPU, not that im complaining!!!

havent changed the volts on anything apart from my ram (OCZ Platinum 2 4 x 1gig)

If i up the voltage will i hit 3? never played with volts cos ive never really had a decent mobo until now!

yeah. its really good. but is that the core temp or Ambient Case Temp? if he was looking at EVEREST Ultimate Edition it shows two temps. one for the cpu = Ambient Case Temp and the other for the cores..

at stock mine idas at 45c and under load is 52c.. at 3ghz it idas at 49c under load is 57c.

is there an better cooler than the one i have now (Akasa AK-922 EVO Blue)? or is this one about the as best for air cooling? if so do u guys recommand the Swiftech H2O 120 Compact Kit?

Was taking my figure from AMD Overdrive, so it was the CPU temps not the case temps. Dont use everest much, just overdrive for monitoring

just had my mobo fail :( gonna rma it but bought an Asus M2N-Sli nForce 560 Sli. whats this like the the 9850? maybe get cooler than it is atm!!!

to be fair i dont often use the 11.2GHZ avalible to my processor. Might have to look into the reviews, if any body here has any direct experiance please let me know.

Bloody Gigabyte.....

I presume that's 2.8GHz per core. Although 4 x 2.8GHz cores = 11.2GHz CPU like two car's next to each other at 70mph being a single car at 140mph would be great for apps that can't make good use of multiple cores. :p

Although on a more serious note, was your M2N SLI that failed 125W CPU compliant? Might explain it failing perhaps.

nah a gigabyte 790 ds4 failed, and i hardly use all four cores, so should be ok until a decent asus am2+ board comes out,

regardless of this, its a bloody quick processor. only problem ive found is in crysis once the world goes "snowy" it stutters and ive gotta reduce to lower graphics. got a bfg 9600gt and 4 gigs of ganged ram so i dunno what the problem is , does crysis multi core?
