AMD AIB Partners Working on Custom 7970 X2

Personally I don't care about the looks, these should make the 690 look even sillier at £900 and with 3 8 pin power connectors it is entirely possible this could be more powerful that the 690.

It looks ok, hardly the finished aticle being in the testing stage, its probably not even a working prototype. I like the devilish style and red and black color, not too sure hat the power button thing does but so long as its got more price:performance ratio than Nvidia's ripoff then its only a good thing I guess.

It's only 2 of the connectors on the 24 pin that need to make a circuit to turn on a psu. Water coolers "bump start" their psu's when filling a loop using a bridge or paper clip. It would be fairly easy to just split a second set of wiring from the power switch to turn on both psu's.

'Key Details About PowerColor HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 Surface
We've been hearing about PowerColor's Radeon HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 dual-GPU graphics card since late-May. A little earlier at Computex, we got to see the card taken apart. We spoke at lengths to reliable sources about the card. To begin with, PowerColor plans to clock the two "Tahiti" GPUs in excess of 1050 MHz (above even the single-GPU HD 7970, and its 925 MHz core clock). Next up, PowerColor will manufacture the card in limited quantities, and will release it to market towards the end of July. Lastly, the PowerColor HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 will be priced around €1,200 (including VAT), its US pricing will be around $1,200. You've heard it first on TechPowerUp!'

If it doesn't trump the 690 at that price, then it's been a total waste of time imo.

Pointless card is pointless. I am glad I didn't bother waiting now and got a cheap second 7970 instead. They only stand me at £640 for two anyway, so seem value for money compared to that. We all know somebody will buy them.
