From an Athlon 64 3000+ Venice to a 4000+ San Diego? Im sure this is a worthy upgrade, dont you think?

What about the Athlon Dual Cores? My motherboard has a 939-pin ZIF socket which is designed for Athlon 64FX or Athlon 64 processors. Will my motherboard be compatible for the dual cores???

I dont really want to overclock yet due to the lack of experience and knowledge
I do a lot of multi-tasking and game playing so i was looking to upgrade to a dual core processor. I dont know if my motherboard is compatible though.

I got an Asus A8NE-FM. It has a 939-pin ZIF socket which is designed for Athlon 64FX or Athlon 64 processors. Thats what it says in the user guide.
