I'm looklng to upgrade soon. My computers a couple of years and a bit more old now.
It's got the point that when i'm burning a dvd or cd it seems to lag when i open a page or goto do something else.

I have a AMD 64bit 3200 and 1 gig ram using abit kv8 raid mobo.

I'm looking at the new chips and i'm not sure whats what and what would be a good choice to go for.

Is there a lot of difference between the san diego and the 64bit x2.
Also would i notice a lot of difference compared to the one i have now?.

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego has 1MB L2 cache £160
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ has only 512Kb L2 cache £217

I mean the as for price the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego stands out. But is there something i'm not seeing or understanding here.

Thanks for your time.

Well i may wait then for a month or two. At worst i would guess the 64bit x2 chip would drop in price a bit more?

I don't play a lot of games on my computer no more other that football manager.
Just use it for general use really.Just thougt it was around the time to think about upgrading and theres some strange things happening with my computer which i'm putting down to age and being on most of the time.

Thanks for your reply and info.
