AMD BC 250 project 2. The easier one.

The cooling on that looks terrible.

TBH you have two options on these.

Wind tunnel with shroud, or, skim the top layer off the cooler which is extreme and difficult. Blowing air at a solid mass does pretty much nothing.

Having used one of these for a while I concur. I watched Macho Nacho's video before my build and wanted to print that case, but after seeing what the temps are like with all the mods there's no way that will be stable.
So far I have:
The fan still hits fully duty cycle after about 10 minutes and it is not quiet. :D

Randal - yup. TBH I don't know how the heck he has kept in in the 60s. He may have used something to lower voltage because I can attest these things run *really* hot. Like, after ten mins you can barely touch the heat sink. He has also completely blocked in the IO which is utter madness. That is how the heat escapes.

Edit. Yeah the more I think about it the more it seems off. These things failed to be a PS5 for a reason. Mostly they probably need a F ton more voltage to be stable.

That's a fair point. I've been meaning to check lm-sensors to see what it's vitals are, be interesting to see.

What games are you playing? Mine is pretty quiet if I tweak settings right or just play some simpler games. Did you set a custom fan curve?

OK so it will be finished tomorrow 100%. I bonded in some supports to stop the unit moving sideways at the IO. That is all finished now. I needed to file a bit too to make it close over the screw holding it in which is odd but ho hum.

Today I took out the LED PCB. Not good news.

I can't replicate that so I need to make a light box that will be glued in. Will machine that tomorrow, but today I did some Fisher Price My First PCB (TM)

I'm trying....

I machined a light box thing but mucked up the dimensions. Too much on my mind...

Off home tomorrow so I will take a break from everything.

love this project, ive been struggling to find a case for mine. I dont have a flex psu only a old evga g2. I tried a egpu dock only problem is the bc250 sits a little low. been wanting to try find a case so i dont have to worry about the little one messing with it.
