Wasn't that due to having low idle clocks. They increased my 5770 to 400Mhz idle form 157Mhz even though its not got the problem they were addressing. Since 10.11 it returned to 157Mhz with lower idle temps.

Yup pretty much that. The memory clock is different as well.

I really don't know if it as simple as I think it is to keep it reverting to the higher power saving clocks when the overdrive option is enabled but they've done it before and now they've broken it again. It is ridiculous seeing as they love trumpeting eyefinity.

It's starting to get boring really.
