I have a Ryzen 1600 that was a launch more or less the same price that 1700 is in this sale. Incredible.

I went ryzen for 44/165hz build, cannot recommend it. It doesn't have the balls.
Swapped it for 8700k and it is much improved.

Yeah, maybe more than 500. Even with video cards at the current prices it's really good value.

12-18 months ago get that level of processing power would have cost easy north of 10K without the monitors and would have needed 4 video cards. It's a bottomless pit of processing power.

Depending on prices the 7740X on offer is pretty much as good as it gets for gaming at 1920x1080 with an uber high-end Nvidia video card. That combination will come top of the bar charts in most cases. Move away from that setup or start considering the real world differance and £290 for the highest binned Ryzen 8 core is pretty much a no brainer IMO.
