AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Overclock settings?

it drops to about 1.16V from memory for a freq. of 1000MHz on mine.

I can't understand this bit o.O, it lowers your memory?

p.s. when i oc'd to 3.4ghz it raised my DRAm frequencies (obviously) so i think it set mine to 1307Mhz, my ram is 1600Mhz but my mb is crosshair III formula so i think it can only support up to 1600Mhz so i dont think setting it at 1656 or whatever the next one up is might not work

Ever since i started changing voltages my PC just wont detect my overclock. I've reverted literally everything back to stock, 2.8Ghz, 2000Mhz HT and NB frequencies C'n'Q on and auto voltage and my pc (control panel - system) and my desktop gadget pick up 2800Mhz exactly but not my actual 2809Mhz, when i overclock it still stays 2800Mhz, something has bugged in my system now.. it just wont detect my overclock anymore

EDIT: OK after reverting everything back to stock i put my overclock settings back on so i changed the CPU freq, FSB, DRAM, NB and SB just like it was exactly before but i have the CPU VCore on auto and Cool'n'Quiet off, im going to now attempt to turn CnQ on again without it stopping my Overclock being detected if that works then i'll be happy :). but as soon as i change the CPU VCore from Auto it goes funny, 1.275V and 1.3V wont work

Set the voltages back to auto, you may need to increase ram volts dependant on the label. I was expecting your CPU to replicate mine but all are slightly different I suppose and your motherboard is different.
Possibly you need to start from scratch after a cmos reset.

andy.

OK here is where I'm at, try to follow ;p.

I have reset my BIOS, booted with everything on stock / auto. After successfull logon i rebooted and went into BIOS, loaded all of my OC settings;
Core speed: 3430.2Mhz
CPU VCore: Auto
Multiplier: 14x
Bus speed: 245.0Mhz
HT Link: 1960.1Mhz
NB Freq: 1960.1Mhz
DRAM Freq: 653.4Mhz (1303Mhz)
DRAM Voltage: Auto
FSB: DRAM 3:8
RAM Timings: 9-9-9-24

After this i booted with CnQ off and my PC runs perfectly fine. Smooth boot, PC detects all settings and all is good. As soon as i turn on Cool'n'Quiet in the BIOS and boot it up its at a fixed 2800Mhz and just wont detect my overclock at all. I only had this problem from when i started changing my CPU VCore to 1.275V before but it wouldnt work so i reset BIOS in which changing all voltages back to Auto (CPU VCore: 1.35V) and Cool'n'Quiet just wont run and i really want it on :S

NOTE: I also tried the enabling of Cool'n'Quiet when it was at stock 2809Mhz and then also with the overclock settings on. Im doing some research on it too at the moment.

Plus on that post you did about 3-4 posts ago with your idle and load pictures, how did you get your overclock to be so accurate? 3500Mhz, 2000Mhz, 1.275V etc.

By the way, how is your PC that cool?! i have a v8 and the antec 1200 and mine idles at about 32-38C! under load on prime95 i hit 55C with every fan and the v8 on max!!! and thats super loud!! whenever i change voltage on my cpu my PC just wont boot, no output comes out at all then i get an error saying OC failed, and coolnquiet just wont work..

My AMD OverDrive wont work, If i change the clock rate (FSB) or any voltage and click apply it says its applying and my PC completely locks up. I waited for 15 minutes and nothing happened, it was still locked and i dont know why!! all of my PC is compatible with AMD overdrive aswell OMG

Surely all cool and quiet does is enable the cpu to ramp down to 4x fsb. In my case this is 4x 250 = 1000MHz on low cpu demand. The OC is still present otherwise it would be 4x 200 or 800MHz. When demand for the cpu comes back it reverts to whatever clock it requires up to the maximum 14x fsb 1000, 1125, 1250, 1375, 1500..............3000, 3125, 3250, 3500

I do not use AMD overdrive, relying only on the bios for overclocking.

My bios allows

CPU multi up to 14x for this chip 14x 250 = 3500MHz
1x to 10x multi for HT and also NB this means I can get 2000MHz with 8x 250
I can change the voltages by 0.025V increments.
My memory multipliers are 4x, 5.33x, 6.66x, 8x. so 6.66x 250 = 1667

My Lian Li case is very good for airflow, lots of piercings, it runs very cool, the CPU is below the GPU as the board fits upside down. The TRUE heatsink with an apache fan is very effective.

Pic of a scruffy case

Having said that, the screenshot showed only 3 minutes of prime, it went up to 47-48C alternating between the two temps after about 30 minutes. But fans are still quiet. After some considerable use it is idling at 30C in a warm room 22-25C.

It seems that you should stay with the stock volts at the moment.

Hope this helps, andy

Just thought I'd add in that I run at 3500MHz (250 x 14) but I need a VCore of 1.4v to be Prime stable.
I can run it at 3808MHZ (272 x 14) but I need to go to 1.475v.

I do have a cheap and cheerful motherboard though (GA-880GM-UD2H) so not sure if that has any bearing on the VCore needed or if I just got poor chip.
My chip is supposedly the 95W version, don't know if that makes a jot of difference.

Man im so confused. Do you have skype andy? Im having some serious problems with my new computer :/

Im gonna take my PC apart tomorrow, i've just completely lost track of everything, i have so many problems with it... i wish i didn't get a new PC now to be honest..

I do not do skype, I will trust you my mobile number later to discuss tonight / tomorrow if you wish. I am at work currently.

EDIT configure your trust.

One thing I thought of, have you fixed the pcie bus at 100MHz, I assumed that you probably had. ASUS boards sometimes overclock this bus which leads to issues. I am not fully conversant with your bios so do not know where this feature is.

andy.

Thanks :)

Yeah its fixed at 100Mhz constantly even when i overclock

EDIT: CnQ off my CPU runs at constant 1.35V (141.1W). CnQ on my CPU runs at 1.35V - 1.225V (141.1W - 74W)
