I'm sorry, there's just not enough information to take this kind of plunge. As much as I'm interested in this card, I feel like I'm being toyed with... They've put a preorder card up, but no information other than we get to pick our card on release day. Seriously?
What will the prices be? (very big piece of info)
Will it include a Never Settle Bundle coupon? (seriously, you should be able to answer this)
Will all the options be just reference cards or will a couple be vendor modified? (IE upgraded cooler / overclock button / pre overclocked - Sapphire is well known for this)
What are the specs?
And I have a couple other questions.. I even tried calling you and all I got was I don't Know answers.. To be fair I got the same response from other retailers as well... Although it was funny to see the guy at Scan **** his pants at the mere mention of the R9-290X. He literally freaked out before I even had a chance to ask the first question. OCUK's guy handled it much better and did try to answer. But seriously, you can't expect a customer to make this kind of commitment for anything without even the most basic of information. Come on, think about it. You're asking us to pre-order an item without even knowing the price and what we're getting for that price. The most basic and critical piece of information of all and it's an unknown? I'm sorry but no... I need more information, and until that happens, I can't make that kind of leap. If I was OCUK, I would really start laying the pressure on AMD, because this ridiculous tactic by AMD is not only hurting your sales, it's just plain insulting our intelligence which in turn is just angering your customers. In the interest of sales, you really should start laying on the pressure and get us more concrete information.

1) Prices still haven't been finalised by AMD
2) Gibbo already said he will give out gold vouchers for Never Settle with the preorders
3) They've also said that the options available will only be reference cards for at least 6 weeks
4) Specs aren't available due to NDA, but if you are clever you can Google them and they have been leaked (and are actually listed more than once in this thread.
Won't disappoint...shareholders.

Yeah, i sold at $4.20 back in July, went back in September @ $3.25, its currently creeping up again @ $3.90, i'm holding out a bit longer, i have a feeling its going to jump again some time soon.

seriously it was the gamble of my life but It was just as they announced supplying ps4 and xbox one components.
I earned three years wages in 6 months. I still can't believe it.
They may well head on up to $6 over the next few months. But I wont be disappointed.
AMD on the market place are much like they are on a lot of forums, slated a lot in those circles, this keeps the price down.
The good thing is AMD have consistently out performed even the least pessimistic forecast and the everyone is surrprised, so there is a mass flood of buyers whenever there is some news or finatial reports and the price rockets.
Then the haters go into overdrive hating and the price falls again.
If you know when to get in and when to get out AMD are a short cash cow.
Do you really believe AMD's poor value is down to "haters"? Nothing to do with their inability to compete in the CPU market and get out of debt?

The best thing people could do is not to fall for these sales tricks from any company because the more people that take them up the more they will push these things and likely come up with even more ways to get our money for things that probably could have been released the previous year.
I remember the xbox360 release where I live I went down to get mine at Midnight (had a pre-order) the store manager came out to the que and told everyone who hadn't pre-ordered that the cheapest 360 they were doing was £600 only the pre-order ones got the actual price that shop was Game Wakefield I remember about 30 people just walked off, but I bet those same 30 people pre-ordered the next console out in fear of the same thing again.
I have just pre-ordered one on the credit card on the off chance the price is a big surprise ( i.e. near £400). if it isn't I will be cancelling. nothing lost, I wont have to pay my credit card bill till the beginning of November anyway 
Investors don't want AMD to compete in the CPU market, they think its dead, Intel are still on a gradual downward slope.
What they are looking for is expansion into growing markets, which is the direction AMD are going.
As for their debt, this is (among other things) what haters have been saying will kill AMD, and they have been repeating that for the past 3 years over and over again.
3 years ago they may have had a point, it didn't look good back then but they have come through it and their debt situation is now much improved, its actually not bad at all now and certainly no longer life threatening.
The more AMD's situation improves the more those same people try to enforce what can now be easily rubbished by actually looking at AMD's current financial situation.
$1.1bn quarterly revenue, $0.5bn overheads. thats good.

with reference to (2) I'd expect all 290x (280s and above I would have also thought ?) to come with Gold Vouchers ?

To be honest I would agree with you, if the new super-duper top of the range card didn't come with the voucher I would be incredibly surprised, of course Gibbo has already said that OCUK will include it will all pre orders.
Gibbo does this mean that normally they wont come with them then?

No idea, one would assume so and OcUK shall be shipping them anyway.
Thanks for the confirmation Gibbo... I also called in to OcUK today and the guy on the phone also confirmed to me that you guys will be shipping gold vouchers with the card. That comforted me enough to at least place my placeholder order... We'll see what happens when concrete pricing details get released. I want this card, but I still have to work within a limited budget... Been saving up all year for a new card, so I have a threshold that's just not possible to go beyond.
