least u didna have to pay postage :( :(

:p

i think r290 = £330-400
r290x = £430-500

Low end for reference. higher for 3rd party coolers.

BF4 editions add £20?

Any likely performance gains in switching from a Titan?

Maybe some performance but with no official performance reviews available its impossible to tell at this stage but its looking good - and will vary by game/reviewer.

And maybe some extra cash if you get a good sale price for the titan (which will be unlikely) which depends on AMD's launch price too of course.

But likely minimal on both counts.

I've just pre-ordered my R290X over the phone so all being well I'll get mine soon but I've a couple of questions still.

As I've stated, mine has now ordered but I've no idea which one I'm going to be getting. Will Overclockers be contacting me before the actual release date asking which one I'd like ?

I'm 99% sure that I'll have my card on or before the 29th of this month due to Battlefield 4 being released but is there any news on a release date for these bad boys ? Probably not but it's worth asking :)

Anyway looking forward to my new card. I've canceled my pre-order of Battlefield 4 on Origin so least that's £45 notes saved :)

More like £400-430 290 and £550-600 290x I reckon.

I'd love for it to be £500 or less for a 290x, but just can't see that happening. I think the 290x will either be faster than a titan or cheaper, same for the 290 against a 780, but not both.

oooh great if true

ref other poster - I'd keep your Titan - even if the R290X is quicker -can't imagine it will be that much quicker (unless we get a bit surprise ...)

and even if it is - I'd imagine it'd effect the resale value of the Titan - I'd just keep it knowing that prob fine for gaming at max settings for many many years :)

similary I'm in a quandry - but I think a 290 if performance good enough will swing it for me

its just an oc'd 280x at 230 odd seems such incredible value its hard to ignore

A titan can't even max out crysis 3 with decent FPS, even the $1000 dollar GPU is not all that futureproof. I think I'm going to see what maxwell brings as these £500+ GPU's take the **** with the price to performance versus cards like the 7970 and 770.

Yeah, your not wrong.

Feels like we are being gouged by CPU manufacturers and GPU ones alike lately.

Suppose the onus will be on Intel to shape up once the next gen games start pumping out and pressure from screenmakers to deliver proper 4K.

Nearly sold out! If you want one this weekend has to be it as By Monday we think we will have sold all our BF4 Editions!
