AMD Radeon 12.2 Video Card Drivers Now Available

Having not really taken much notice of recent AMD driver releases I'm not totally au fait with their install/uninstall procedure. Would I be right in thinking they haven't got something as simple as Nvidias 'perform clean install' check box? Whilst AMD appear to be knocking out some cracking video cards nowadays, it's threads like these that don't exactly inspire me with much confidence on the driver side of things, especially when you hear of BSODs, strange corruption type issues, and people having to reinstall Windows because the drivers have royally screwed their OS up...
 
I sweep without problems but I know it ain't recommended here! It's what I've always done and until I registered here I'd never heard any different.

^Same here.

I do want to go back to 12.1 drivers though so will try the un-install re-install method without sweeper.
 
Mainly I used sweeper software when moving between different manufacturers cards on WinXP.

I think sweep was good until Win7, then it went all Pete Tong, and the original Driver Sweeper app by Phyxion on Guru3D didn't get updated for a while, then it did get updated to 2.5 and 2.6 but Phyxion dumped a whole lot of ads in it and got banned in some spat or another.

Then both AMD and NV seemed to get less problematic in their process and it all became a moot point, however I think in situations where you are completely stuck then running a driver sweeper that is up to date and current probably wont make it much worse than it already is :)

I installed these and seem to be getting the same sort of corruption with Fifa 12. Mainly around the floodlights and the yellow cross to show the balls destination. hmmmm.
 
Would there be any side effects on installing the 12.2 CAP 1 set alongside the 12.1 preview drivers from a while back?
 
Last time I updated (to 12.1) I uninstalled and re installed but some games ran worse than before. I repeated the process but used driver sweeper as well and got much better performance so I'd recommend sweeping.
 
lets hope they are on target.

20% performance increase using MLAA which is improved and a fix for skyrim all from one set of drivers seems too good to be true.
