**AMD Radeon 390X Graphics Card WCE**

Gibbo was the guy who said that AMD wanted to clear as much of their old stock as possible........ the launch date in june is to give more time to clear their old stock......... more time to finish the 390X/ build up mass hysteria to maximise initial sales and finally, to frustrate Nvidia as much as possible :D

unfortunately, they could've launched in 3 weeks time ............THEY MIGHT STILL DO.

lol i know gibbo jumps the gun as a hobby when he's not pretending to be a super hero but i think i remember amd saying it too, clearing the channel of old stock blahblah

finishing up the 390...if its made what can they do? packaging??
maybe its genius and i just dont see it bcos im so dumb!
a little amd tease soon would be nice just saying ><

It's going to be a lot more than £100 more than a 290X, you can guarantee that. More than double most likely for an 8GB SKU.

£100 quid more than the 290X USED TO BE......not it's low price now, the MSI Lightning used to be 600 nickeroos......... so the 390Hydra could be 700 to 800 quid..........

the air cooled 390X ( If true) could be 500 quid, i dont know how the hell they're going to separate a normal X card from a limited edition Hydra special, because that's what they've said, but my guess is the Hydra will be the same card but Overclocked to hell..hence needing water ;)

this means that the cheaper 390X will be the best buy, because like the MSI 290X, it can be overclocked to catch up with the Lightning.

it looks like the 290X is the 390X.........the 290X Lightning is the 390X Hydra.....in a way maybe.

but.........what happens if the 295X2 becomes the 395X2 Hydra ........ WOW, you'll have the most powerful awe inspiring GPU ever made and i'd buy it instantly........... truly exciting times, these next few months are going to be brilliant

would be interesting to see if a amd card that price will sell!
i know a lot think they wont

the tx to me isnt even a gaming card, its just nuts :)
being 1st = easier to sell too!!

395x4 hydra edition ,, Ya know you want it Mal :p

no the TX is very interesting indeed, i might still get it.

it's far less hassle than messing around with water cooling ..... dont forget i'm only on 1080p.

YEA, but what i really want i cant have..............4k OLED Panny 65'' because until then a monster card is a waste of money isn't it

a 4K 100'' Projector is no good, it's not bright enough during the day :(

you are thinking about it for the extra gpu power tho right?
i mean the 12gb part is a total waste, 2 cards i dont see it using all that & 3 dont even work so well

it might say designed for gamers on the box or whatever but there's no way any gamer wanted that lol

oh no i couldn't give a damn about 12gb, as long as it's more than my gimped 4.0

what i'm after is a big lazy single card ..... the trouble with SLI 970 is that it has the power, but it's running out of RAM .

this week is decision time, but right now i'm very confused

Doesn't bother me if it not coming out till June, as if it beats the TITAN X, then its going to hold the single card performance crown until Nvidia gets their Pascal out, as the TITAN X is their full chip isn't it ?

The later AMD releases the better it is for nvidia to enjoy continued record breaking 970 and 980 sales.

Yeah bit strange for NV to show their hand this early.

If Fiji ends up being faster AMD will have a year+ of superiority to lord over them.

I do wonder if it is 100% full maxwell or clock speeds will have some lock. I'd imagine they would like to have a backup plan and hopefully they will need it , I hope the 390x is 20%+ faster :D

I don't think that Fiji will be quite as fast as a Titan X but it will be within 10% which is the problem for NVidia.

If NVidia had waited any longer the Titan X would have been up against a card that was almost as quick but half the price.

You know for a vast majority of people out there £500+ is still far too much for a GPU, so even if AMD’s premium offering is faster/nearly as fast for a lower price it still has to compete with the fact that too many of us ‘enthusiasts’ buy brand, and right now and that’s NVidia.

NVidia already cleared up this year in the mid-range brand with the 970 and 980, they sold a metric ****-ton of them and only a small % of thoughts people will upgrade to anything either side release for the next year or two.

I hope AMD really do pick it up this year because NVidia need a real kick up the rear end, but it will take a lot more then fancy hardware as their drivers, support and general perception has a long way to go.

It makes no sense to 'buy brand' that is potentially twice as expensive for about the same performance. Unless you need something specific the TitanX does, like compute power.

And don't make car analogies as they don't apply to GPU's :)

I agree but I didn't say it made sense, its just what happens, people will pay more for less for a whole host of reasons, GPU's are no different.

I must be missing something as I can't find a car reference my post, going to go and get another coffee and take a second look, I hate 7am starts. :D

only at 4K, because you'd never fit Xfire 390x to 1080p ...........even 970 SLI is way too much wasted grunt for 1080p.......the 970 fails because it's only 4GB RAM...... well 3.5, otherwise it would be fine to 2016

I'm not commenting on 970's that's another boring saga. I play at 1080p 120 hz and i've had no problems with setting graphics to an acceptable level and maintain a decent and stable fps

just thinking back to titan fall which whilst no one plays the game anymore did AMD ever get xfire working? Scotti tried every combination each card on their own.

xfire worked on x79 but not on z87 same drivers same settings. didn't matter about the res the game looked arse on dual card.

That can't have been just drivers. can it?

Fan boys will buy because of brand, others will buy because of a variety of reasons.

I'll be buying because I quite like the Nividia gameworks stuff in games and also the Nvidia software and this is coming from someone who hasn't had any software problems with AMD and has been with AMD for the past 10+ years.
