**AMD Radeon 390X Graphics Card WCE**

12GB is overkill. We have only seen a huge jump in vram usage due to the new consoles. I don't think we will see anything like this jump for a few years at least. Certainly long enough that you'd be on a new card by then anyway.

I know I'm dreaming here, but the only way AMD are getting a day one purchase or of me is of it is £400 or less.

AMD aren't a budget brand, if they beat the TX they can charge what they want.

It really is ridiculous to expect them to sell it for 400 when it has HBM and all the other goodies.

Definitely more excited about the 390x after seeing the Titan X results.

I think AMD will absolutely smash it at 4K.

Not that impressive is it when you look at it vs the 290X, i think even the 380X may be snapping at its ankles.

I think you will see some very impressive results when the Titan X is used in SLI @2160p.:D

The real problem for the 390X will be the cut down 6gb version of the Titan X as it will sell for about the same price as the AMD card.

Its not going to scale any higher than it should, it will scale about the same as the 390X CF.

The Titan X will be around £900, i can see the 980TI being around £100 more expensive than the 390X with less Buffer and less performance.

Even the 380X may be comparable.

I think you will find the Titan X @2160p will get a good increase over the 980 as it has not got the awful 256bit bus. You should see something along the lines of the Titan X @2160p beating out the 390X in the same way as the 980 beats out the 290X @1080p.

A rebadged 290X will not even get in the game up against a Titan X.

The 390X could be very expensive indeed with 8gb HBM and an AIO cooler making a cut down 6gb GM200 card look like a bargain.

Looking at the leaked rumoured specs for the 390X if true point to it being about 5% to 10% slower than a Titan X.

Kaap, imagine an 8GB Tonga revised 290X.

Hawaii vs Tonga (+10%)
3072 Shaders (+10%)
1050Mhz (+5%)
1500Mhz '400GB/s' (+25%)

In real terms a 380X going to be a solid 25%+ faster than the 290X which will already bring it to 85/90% of Titan-X performance.

Now look at the 390X

Hawaii vs Tonga (+10%)
4096 Shaders (+45%)
1024GB/s (+220%)
128 ROP's (+100%)

Thats ^^^^ a monster.

It's all pure speculation Kaap as no one has seen how HBM performs, fact is the TitanX is extremely underwhelming, hot and apparently loud and needs to be put under water for maximum performance and will probably be around £900 per card before you add on waterblock prices

390x will probably drop in around £600 or so, that's a third cheaper for similar rumored performance, again the unknown quantity that is HBM could be an absolute game changer.

The 980ti will be similar in price I imagine but won't get near it in performance, infact I expect the 380x to be similar to 980ti performance as well

But again we need to wait and see benchmarks of both to be able to really compare

+1 for truth, I woukd be disappointed as an Nvidia fan right now, the TitanX looks overpriced and underwhelming, runs hot and loud like a certain AMD card they love to ridicule for that very reason, and is about to get smashed to bits by a superior newer tech product which will probably end up 25-35% cheaper as well

The worrying bit in those figures is the 4096 shaders, if it was a couple of hundred higher then I would say it would edge out a Titan X. The final performance will depend a lot on how the 390X architecture will perform, this is the big unknown until the real thing is benched.

Things like HBM will give very little in performance boost as once the memory is fast enough you won't get anymore performance as it will be bottlenecked by the GPU core.

The only real way to tell what is what is to wait for the new AMD cards to hit the shelves.

Speak for yourself mate, I picked up 2 GTX Titans @ £350 each. They're perfect on my 1440p panel and couldn't be happier!

Why would people be disappointed lol? If the 390X beats the TX, people can sell them and get the 390X. Easy upgrade lol

I think your going to have egg on face with that Kaap, AMD themselves have said Memory Bandwidth is a Bottleneck for them, thats why they are going HBM.

I think you may be in for a shock when the cost of adding 8gb of HBM is included in the price. New tech is seldom cheap.

While I am on the subject I am typing this on my totally silent 290Xs.:p:D
