When the 290X beats my scores in the bench threads, I will happily buy you a pint. Till then Hunny,

I think he knows im right.
Would a corsir AX860i cut it to run two of these in crossfire or are we pushing it.

I think you know I think you are right as well
Anyways, I want to chuck in a thought for those still unsure of what to buy...
We have this card (Gigagbyte 780) @ £480 and from the 28th, it will have the new Batman, AC4 and Splinter Cell games.

And we have this card (Gigabyte 290X) @ £440. No free games sadly

but the £40 saving from the 780 makes them pretty even. Both great cards and neither will do you any harm in your system
Edit:
A little harsh on the moderating there?

That will be fine. Not 100% on massive overclocking (voltage adjustments) but for normal overclocking, no problems
You'll be fine.
1 card draws a max of 300w and you will never see that on real-life scenarios. A CPU will not go over 150W even with full load so whatever else you have in the system will still have 100w left to them.
Your real world usage will be somewhere around 400-500w though at max.
Ultimately I think it's a great card whatever way you look at it. It matches or beats a 780 even in the worst scenario for the same price, if not less, and beats Titans in the best scenarios for a huge amount less. I always watercool my cards so I'd definitely buy one, or two, if I was buying this gen. No way would I buy one and leave the cooler on, it'd be a 780 for sure in that case.
I totally agree it's great to see AMD come back with something like the 290x, such a bloody shame they couldn't have made better cooling as then it would be going down in legend.
You mean this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-124-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752
You had the 780 linked twice, the 290X comes with the Gold thingy, 3 Games.

You have a Titan, give the 290X a spin, you never know. you might like it.
Yep and thanks
My aim was to pop a 290X in the 2nd PCI-E x16 slot and run a dual boot with W8 for the 290X and W7 for the Titan but I didn't want to have to water cool it. I can see I would need to for the noise but I could still do this on a custom card. I was talking with WhyScotty and the Lightning would be a good shout.

You mean 780 Lightning?
The so called nvidia shill announces the 290x as the fastest GPU out there!
