No that is not my point. My point is that AMD management just need to wish for their sake of their existence in high end GPU market that Nvidia do not cut the price of GTX 1080 to price it similar or cheaper and if they do than VEGA is confirmed DOA.

I see. But I am not sure that make sense considering AMD are charging half the price of what Intel is with their new Ryzen CPU's. If they wished that they would just slightly undercut them, not by such huge amounts. AMD need market share, they won't be getting that by pricing it their stuff high IMO.

My point is that AMD is not doing anything different. They are hyping a card ,which has not even manage to beat a card ,which people called mid range by some warriors in the internet forums and it was released last year.

it is more brutal situation for AMD than Maxwell launch. I just hope AMD do not make slides to compare VEGA with GTX 1080 or else they will just murder VEGA launch. It will be like AMD next gen marvel tech is competing with nvidia last year mid range device.

So Vega 10 is supposed to compete with the 1080/1080Ti and Vega 11 to compete with the 1070.

Let's hope that we can get 10%-20% more performance than a 980Ti for around £300.

And if AMD continue their surprises as they did with Ryzen then I have a good feeling about this.

Leave alone GTX 1080 Ti. It is not even manage to beat GTX 1080 in AMD owns game settings, selected resolution and games.

We will see soon. If they do well with Vega and price it right, it will sell, if not it won't simple as that really. You are over thinking it with all the slides and crap. If most people are happy to be shafted by Nvidia with the 970 and give nvidia more money for a 980, I do not see them shying away from a few AMD graphs..

And still GTX 970 sold more than entire RX 480, R9 2xx, R9 3xx and Fiji series combine. AMD is only surviving because of nvidia's stupid pricing policy. If Nvidia starts price war than it is a piece of cake for Nvidia to take over entire GPU market.

AMD launched a new t shirt for their GPU department while Nvidia cut the prices for their GPU, improved memory speed and launched the fastest GPU at reasonable price. Both are GPU company ,however, both vision and approach is on different direction.
It sums up both events and presentation. Some people will love to buy new t-shirt and some people will love to buy beast GPU.

AMD did launch a t-shirt while nvidia updated their GPU prices, up date memory speed, launched a new high end GPU in the same day.

Ive just watched that Ti video that was shown, RTG, gone in 60 seconds, an hr and a half, just destroyed in a 1 minute video by Nvidia

As i said both companies are going into the different vision and direction. AMD believes that t-shirt is more important than giving some information about GPU and Nvidia thinks totally opposite of this.

This is not true. Nvidia gave info as launch is imminent. AMD clearly is still a couple of months away yet. Why did Nvidia not give info back in January like everyone thought they would? Because they were not about to launch...

So your issue is that a cut down version of nvidias current crop of cards is coming out before a totally new top range from AMD whose release has been known for ages as months away?

I have no issue with AMD and i never expect anything from their GPU division. They are simply best at making them self fools and they give reason to increase Nvidia GPU sales in just 1.3 hrs of their presentation.

Vega is fine for 4k, question is price and how it stands up vs previous cards.

How can we possibly know that Pascal clocks better than Vega? It's a completely new architiecture.

It will be just like Ryzen with many excuses. It will good for development purpose but it will be a lackluster in gaming ,this is the reason why AMD is so much focused on developers rather than gamer with VEGA.

They have given up on high end market period.

The problem is that AMD knows that their card is only performing around GTX 1080 and their are not sandbagging anything ,therefore, it is what it is. AMD knows if they say that our card only performing as GTX 1080 after one year and at same drop price of GTX 1080 than of course it will be embarrassing moment for AMD. Therefore, with VEGA and their PR is mainly focused on content, VR, developers and sever market with new Ryzen and VEGA. Do not be surprise if GTX 1080 is winning majority of DX11 games, trading blows in DX12 against Vega 10.

AMD will not go for performance crown anymore and they always make loss and terrible mistakes to claim that.
