3.6GHz

AMD is working on a new Deneb-based Phenom II X4 975 core and judging from previous speed updates the new CPU might actually even work at 3.6GHz.

TDP's can be as high as 140W, but that will have to be tolerated for such a speed. We don’t know when AMD plans to launch this CPU, but it’s almost certain that it comes in the first half of 2010.

Once Phenom stepping three is available there might be a chance to make a 125W version of this CPU. The plans are in the pipe, and the good thing about it will be the price that will definitely sit close to €200,the current price of Phenom II X4 965.

We will let you know when Phenom II X4 975 comes closer to being launched.

Funny how it's AMD pushing out the high stock clocks.

Higher stock clocking, lower overclocking but lower power usage at X speed

Hmm?

I thought AMD where bringing out a 4GHz stock clock chip this year???

If the above statement is true then the rumors spreading all over the internet about AMD 4GHz stock must have been a load of bull.

yes thy will launch a 4.0 ghz cpu, but thy r moving slowly

Did AMD themselves officially gave statement that they may have a 4.0 ghz cpu out soon, or is this hole AMD 4GHz stock thing just rumors and no evidence to back it up??? Because if I remember correctly, a few months ago on this forum and on the internet people were talking about a chip that AMD was about to release, im sure it was the Phenom II, the rumors were that it`ll have a 4GHz stock clock but everyone knows that never came true when the chip was released, no where near it.

Sources on the internet suggest that AMD's next big thing is a 45nm six-core desktop processor released by mid-2010 and this chip will aim at Intel's Gulftown.

Both AMD and Intel will probably reach 4GHz stock clock sometime but I don`t think it`ll be soon, as they seem to be more interested in bringing out multi core processors for more speed rather than GHz.

Well Intel hasn't totally lost it and just gone after mega core clusters.

The dual cores with onboard GPU they ought to be pushing next year should be good for normal people :D

One of them is nudging the stock clock a bit at 3.46ghz, before turbo o.0
