AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Extremely high. It is exactly the kind of demo they like to do, unless of course it doesn't stack up.

The only issue is that if they want to show it at the highest level it will have to be with an Nvidia GPU.

I expect to see a demo with a Vega VII, I wolp

I think they will use 2080Ti, or RTX Titan. If testing CPU's. AMD aren't too proud to use the "best" GPU even if it's Nvidia. They have done it before.

very good point!

get the cpu\mobo\

I have come to the following conclusion that my current budget of 550 will not do for the I7 9700k as I can get ran and processor but not enough funds for a decent mobo to run it all so I should either drop to a I5 9600k or go down the AMD route and 2700x as a decent mobo seems so much more cheaper.

Thanks to everyone that has replied

Sales team would take over and drive it with RTX Titan most likely, if left to engineering teams the .They'd want their own GPU in there which isn't the best PR .
I remember them showing off their GPU in a mini ITX build form using Intel CPU as it was the fastest at the time . Company would rather settle for half a sale then nothing at all :)

It's only my own educated guess so you're welcome to ignore it but I'd say it will, IF2 more than doubles the bandwidth but the 'problem' was more about latency than bandwidth.

The latency issues are an inherent weakness of current chiplet designs, for what i assume are obvious reasons.
Yes, IF latency is usually the biggest killer of performance in applications like games. We won't know if they've improved this until we see either benchmarks or some latency numbers. Of course, faster clock speeds and doubling of the IF frequency will also help but latency is very important.

I think it's very likely they'll do a gaming demo but whether it will include numbers depends on how good Zen 2 is. It might just be a "hey look at this we can get 144 FPS solid at 1080p in this e-sports title" demo instead, a bit like the very first Ryzen demo from December 2016 (IIRC).

source? sauce? link?
Sorry i was referring to AsRock and biostar showing their hand the other day, nowt new. Just reading into the rumour that the ryzen showcased at CES ran at 4.6ghz boost on a 65w TDP. If that's the case then surely 95w chips will get close to that mythical 5ghz number, and definately the 125w 16c behemoth if that exists.

Adult is subjective, plenty of manbabies out there. Same kind of people that need the biggest car or tv.

True, I've got no issue if they want to add a bit of lighting but the general styling and packaging/marketing can be a bit OTT. Some of the Asrock designs can be fairly subtle. I've always been happy with MSI products but some of their designs are quite tacky at the moment.

Itching to upgrade now, probably a month away from solid information...

Just save a little more. Give up that daily cappuccino or something and get the 9700K. It should last longer. Not sure how much faster is the 9600K to the 8600K, but you don't want to run into a game and feel you already need an upgrade.

I think he meant specs of Ryzen 3000 ;)

I did mean in general Vs 1st Gen (+) and 2nd gen etc, I also expect the these chips to be better than the previous.... well I seriously hope they would or what would the point be, just more cores ? :)

My score is endlessly sliding down....
Score 18941, GPU 1080 @2114/2772, GFX Score 24547, Physics Score 20715, Combined Score 6667, CPU RZ1800X @3.9, Ad_Augendae, Post No.1691 - Link Drivers 391.35

They've demonstrated Threadripper with a Quadro or Titan before I believe

just clone their z390 range and job done , think like Gigabyte they have slightly increase phase design/count from Intel counterpart . though im not 100% sure with MSI

what is the chance of AMD showing a gaming demo (vs Intel) at Computex? Instead of just synthetics.

Yeah but they'd end up showing something heavily optimised for AMD such as Division 2 or Devil May Cry which would give us less of an indication of general performance than a synthetic test. If they chose a non-sponsered title then their sponsers might not be happy.

We'll just have to wait for independent reviews.
