Who is looking at just the 3600 and 3600x?

I doubt most of us can afford the price premium of the more expensive chips. £400 for a 3800x and intel equivalent sounds a bit rich.

When did processors start costing this much ? I’m sure once we spent £150 for core i5’s and £250 for core i7 flagships. What happened ?

@humbug remember week or so ago when I said them cpus will eat loads of power ?? If this takes 245w @4.1 in CINEBENCH you are looking at 320w in IBT at damn 4.1. Vcore is 0.03v higher than my daily one.
SoC needs more Vcore I see. Atm I'm sitting at 1.025 here its at 1.2.
Not sure about Cooling but its 82c so thats More than I got at around same watts by 8c

haha , i heard another vendor saw asus VRMs were almost identical.

guessing asus is using 16 channel pwm and ir 3555 60amps ? question is with the formula, 14 phases, either IR 3555, 3556 ?

@humbug decided to check whats the power draw difference to see how much less CB15 takes. Well its around 162 watts vs 225 on my settings atm Them all core overclocks will be interesting. What sort of Volts will 12 core need to push 4.5ghz all core DAMN

@orbitalwalsh im not worried about power delivery. More about amount of heat to cool down !!! VRM's on this motherboard can do 400watts if i remember. They barely get to 65c when pushing 230 atm.

Have to look at it, can that £100-170 be put towards a better GPU chip - if start new core build. and then cooling it down - though i have a feeling 12 core OC is a 360 clc/ dark rock Pro job like i9

The design.... Id rather have 1x8core chiplet than 2x4core ones Totally worth the extra price !!! 1x8 will be superrior on latencies simple as that.

While the 3800 is the part they compared the 3700 could be the daddy - its all going to be down to who can clock the best.
No point in going for the 3800 if the 3700 comes out and does 99% as well.
