AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

3950x is the highest clock ryzen 3000

It’s 21% faster than the stock 2700x in cinebench single core R20

Can someone quickly tell me what the score the stock 2700x gets?

I want to compare it to 9900k, extrapolate out to see if AMD 3950x beats the 9900k in single core

Ooh hope my 3200 cl14 b die can clock up to 3600

Those slides confirm that if you are a gamer and buy a ryzen 3000, you should pair it with 3600mhz RAM

i love your optimism , wish i had it myself... ocuk as much as i love them will gouge ... expect nothing less than over 500 and if its less you get a bonus :)
yeah when it comes to the more expensive stuff I tend to shop around. I've had to with a few items lately, the only reason I hope it could be cheaper is because of them prices maybe being because of the u.s trade war going on. but either way i'm willing to pay £500 if I need to (and reviews are good) my 7600k hits 100% with a lot of games because of DRM Ubi titles specifically.

It's not coming till Zen3! Im telling you.

*cough*

What a mic-drop from AMD. Great numbers, the RAM is now a non-issue, they're smashing into Intel even at Core i9 level, matching them in gaming and destroying them on overall compute ability, cost and TDP. Oh and cheaper. A shiny new 3950X for me in September. :D

Oh, and ~15% faster single core speeds. How the tables have turned.

Extrapolation time to see who the single core king is, data taken from user benchmarks on this forum

Claim: AMD claims the 3950x is 21% faster than the 2700x in Single Core Cinebench R20

Question: How does that rank against the 9900k?

All numbers are from stock out of the box CPUs

Cinebench R20 single core 2700x stock 3400mhz ram: 413pts
Cinebench R20 single core 9900k stock 3200mhz ram: 501pts
Extrapolated Cinebench R20 single core Ryzen 3950x 4.7ghz on one core, AMD used 3600mhz ram: 413 x 1.21 = 500pts

So yes, we can confirm that the 4.7ghz Ryzen 3950x will match the 9900k in single core score, while the 4.6ghz 3900x should only be slightly behind

Who ultimately wins the single core battle now comes down to overclocking headroom. The 9900k gets pushed to between 540pts and 560pts depending on the silicon lottery and your cooling
