Try 1.35v worked for me am running mine at 4.3 1.25v.

just pased cinebench r20 (7452 points) at 4.3ghz at 1.35v temps still high max was 83 degrees, what temps are you at 1.25v?
not yet got scared at 90 degreessitting in windows at stock and cpu is 4250mhz and temps are 34-42 on average
To get better cooling, new blocks or jet plates are going to be needed for these with the way the chiplets and IO die are positioned on the package.

My gigabyte aorus master x570 makes the 3900x really hot compared to my x470 crosshair vii at the same volts and speeds.

lol my 7900x i have before the new amd cpu would hit upper 80's but at 4.8ghz on all cores i kinda new ryzen 3000 would be warm but not quite at that levelEasy to spot someone who hasn't see a 9900k in action

It is a 24 thread chip, not surprising it gets hot at high loads.

lol i'm using kryonaut under the hood as we speak but temps are high under oc conditions

The chiplets probably need new cooling designs. I bet the thermal density on these will be tough to deal with for big overclocks.

i asked ek directly about this and they said the current blocks should be more than enough, if more ppl complan they may be forced to make newer revisions

About 34idle 63 load on 3900x 4.3 1.25v Custom watercooled.
Techpowerup keep delivering all the answers this launch.
They put a 3900X in a cheap ($70) ASUS B350 motherboard. Here are the results:

Seems to be 2 bad results but otherwise parity, great when you consider this board ranks so low on the VRM tier list:

That's my board, good to know cause was getting paranoid about bios sizes,support etc. Now I get why the last 2 bios updates were making my overclock unstable, Asus was softening vrm stages.

I believe a some of the high scores for 3900X have been set with X370 boards too.

3900x up and running. Only on the stock cooler currently, but it does run a little warm for sure. At least once under water I wont hear the fan ramping up all the time.
