american lies

how on earth can america and the uk go on about human rights to countrys such as iran when they are the biggest human rights abuserss in the world?

From the general views of the population of the UK + US they thing Iran is the same kind of weak target as Iraq and Afghanistan .. The reality of it is that they can't touch Iran's military, its a big country and has a lot of power.

Iran ok might have some crazed religious people, but it wasn't that long ago the west and them were such buddies.. It shouldn't take too long for a revolution, there is so much more rule breaking there now. When I was 10 about 12 years ago, it was pretty strict, its revolting the other way, there is no need for any conflict, apart from the war for oil..

To be fair this whole thread is a farce because you've linked in some daily fail, any try to relate to Iran .. Its all just bs.

I find it funny that people think the UK + US can afford a war with Iran, just like the North Korea situation but worse, it would cost far too much and gain very little.

But Iraq and Afghanistan, easy targets, lots of oil.. Fair game

Meh the whole thing is stupid, Iran don't care, Iraq are their enemy's, and Afghans are treated like scum .. The whole strategy is flawed I swear, all they want is oil, and to be fair why not the western world will collapse soon :(

// Too much drunk ranting going on, haven't even proofed it.. Just US + Uk have made a bad move and are stuck with crap countries to try to controll.

<sigh> nn all

It seems that very few of you have any idea of how wikileaks works.

It's not for just writing things on. It's for publishing existing documents. So, if there's a story about the American army abusing their power, then it's on there because someone had access to a document stating that the American army are abusing their power, not because some spotty 17 year old decided to troll the US military.

Does anyone think the footage of the chopper nailing the Reuters photographers was fabricated?

"'The tank stopped at the end of the street, she's there in her yellow dress, a rifleman pops up and blows her away.'"

I would like to hear the full story behind that.

However, I'm not suprised both governments are blowing the 'troop saftey' card. Who wants to admit to this stuff?

Even when in the main everyone's out of Iraq.

Or is this an admission that these illegal wars and actions actually contribute to to conlicts elsewhere, like Afghan?

I'm not angry anymore, that went away years ago. I'm dismayed and disgusted. Hopefully with our armed forces nuetered, we won't be doing this for a long time yet.

" he just popped up and blows her away"

yeah right. Whatever

chopping the hands off of thieves who steel from sweet shops and who have no previous criminal record (Iran)

Except you have to be caught as a thief more than once.

I don't understand the irrational fear of Iran, what have they ever done to command fear from the UK? They don't do wars like England have, if anything they should fear being invaded considering the track records of both countries.

Why on earth would a soldier do that?

There's nothing to gain except to upset the locals and get yourself locked up for murder. In my experience soldiers are a bit shy at shooting as it's well drilled into you that if you shoot when you shouldn't you'll be thrown to the wolves.

If you're in a tank you can't exactly be jumping out of the thing and pulling your rifle out, you've a job to do in the tank. The whole thing doesn't add up.

Soldiers are trained to kill, they are dehumanised to the point where they will not hesitate to pull the trigger when presented with a target. This training inevitably results in their moral code being significantly different to the general publics. Thus we have the likes of the american apache pilots who see the war as a big video game and they're just trying to rack up as many points as they can. Extra points awarded for innocent civilians killed it would seem.

It still makes me laugh how people regard every single member of our forces as 'heroes' and 'serving our country'.

When infact, when truth comes to light, some (that's some) participate in activities such as this, many simply join the forces because the career appeals to them, often through the dramatisation and gloryfying in media and army recruitment campaigns (nothing to do with wanting to help uphold peace between nations and protecting our nation), and every member of the forces serving is, infact, serving our goverment - not our country.

It wouldn't surprise me if in 10-15 years down the line, what's now respect held for our forces by much of our nation has turned into complete contempt, to the same level, if not more so, than the current contempt for the police.

You blatenetly have never meet any real soldiers in your life?
Ever heard of ptsd? If all soldiers were as you descirbed ptsd would be none existant in soldiers returning from a conflict.
These "stories" always fail to highlight that american soldiers do not engage targets if their is a risk to civilians.
Please get out more, the online drival found on the internet is warping your view on relaity...

I think you'll find there is contempt for the forces...and it's quite sickening.

Shock horror out of 194,440 regulars, some of them are going to be complete and utter throbbers. Because of that minority, you do not tar ever other man and woman with the same brush.

If there is a large rise in contempt for the armed forces (Because of actions taken by our Government might I add) then that will be a large indicator of how down the pan Britain has gone (Yes, I know I sound like a Daily Mail writer...)

Isn't PTSD prevalent exactly because of what he says? Because these soldiers are dehumanised and then return to a life they no longer relate to?

Its hard to highlight American soldiers' aversion to engaging targets when there is civilian risk when the leaked documents seem to suggest civilians as being direct targets :p

I believe it's for when you experience something traumatic which a person is unable to forget and prevents them from returning to a normal level of coping. Not to do with turning soldiers into 'blood thirsty monsters, baby eaters, mother bangers' etc (I believe it's similar to Shell Shock in WWI, and the soldiers then didn't have time to be turned into 'blood thirsty warriors')

They threaten Israel.

if anybody has a "shoot first ask questions later" attitude its the yanks.

Just look at the apparent "hostage" rescue a few weeks ago where the helmet cam footage appears to suggest the americans killed the british aid worker with a frag grenade !

Then look at previous history of american blue-on-blue. Its rarely British blue-on-blue as our forces are better trained.

If a british soldier has shot an 8 year old girl, theres more to it than "he just popped up and shot her for no reason"
