Amp For Sennheiser HD600 coming from Xonar D2

Just ordered one of these from their site ^ (£41.08 with ripoffpal) hope it's good. The fact it runs on a 9V battery ought to do good things for the noise (complete lack of!).

Incredible - beautiful little thing. Came with a battery so fired it right up. Running the DX at 10-15 volume and connected the amp using a crap 3.5mm throwaway cable.

The detail is greatly improved, hearing new layers eg. sighs of vocalists, riffs below the surface etc. What they say about headphone amps apparently is true - it's not whether your current source goes loud enough, but whether it does it while keeping all the detail.

DX -> CmoyBB -> HD595 blows the headphone jack on my CA Azur 540R out of the water (a very decent integrated amp). Very pleased indeed.

In the short term I'll be getting a better interconnect (recommendations for a 1-2m 3.5mm-3.5mm interconnect?) and in the longer term getting some hd650s

Edit: pics!

Do you reckon I would see much improvement using one of the CmoyBBs with my titanium HD and DT770s? Really loving the mint tin ^_^

How long does the battery last?

I've spent some time enjoying this amp, and I am genuinely blown away by the improvement. Bits of rock which sounded noisy and messy are now tight and well defined. It's not very scientific to listen, then spend some time fiddling with cables around the back and listen again - but from doing this the difference appears to be huge.

Not sure, just got it. I bought some rechargeable 9V batteries so will be using them when this alkaline one provided dies. This review suggests a month for an alkaline battery.

Edit: Basically, it's completely changed the spectrum of the phones. Male vocals sound much fuller and rounded - Mr Jones by Counting Crows has an incredible warmth and clarity in Duritz's vocals, not to mention the resolution and richness in the layering.

auction.

I was just thinking that this could be mistaken for an IED, that would be pretty funny lol.

Hopefully not  yes the guy is very good - he puts it's value as $15 on the packet, which means no customs.

I believe they are very slightly cheaper direct from jdslabs.com.

Btw. I'm still absolutely smitten with this amp. David Bowie's Low has such tightness and attack I've not heard before.

I got mine yesterday. Want to get a ac/dc adapter for it, anyone know of any good sites that sell that kind of thing? Having troubles finding anything that looks reliable and is in stock.
