Amp question

Just got myself a pair of Goldirng DR100's. Pleased with them, but I think the treble could be improved with an anmp and I jsut don't think tehy are loud enough. Reading some comments made on another site, it was suggested to get a FiiO E5 amp and a better quality 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. I looked at the Fisual 3.5mm to 3.5mm. Would this be any good alogn with the E5? Also, probably a silly question, but is the Fiio battery powered/rechargable by USB? Not had a PC amp before.

Yes, the E5 is rechargable via USB. I bought one the other day, expecting it to arrive sometime next week.

ive got the e5 its serial no 25 so one of the first made i use it with my ultrasone hfi780s maybe some people think well its not a ray samuels or an ibasso or an icube whats the point of a cheapo amp but it does help the sound a lot. volume wise on my cowon d2 i can lower it from 35 to 25 to get the same level but thats not the best thing its the detail and micro detail that is brought forward by the amp and just an increase in body and texture if that makes sense? maybe its the synergy of the ultrasones and the d2 and the e5 but its an amazing sound, i also get a slight widening of the soundstage . the bass boost button is also fun to use and gives a mellower darker sound.
I use a genuine creative charger to charge it and it takes maybe 1.5 to 2 hours (stops glowing red when charged) to charge, you can also use it whilst charging.
all in all the best £17 ive ever spent, no doubt about that
