Amy Winehouse - the new Pete Docherty

I don't get why the media thinks anyone gives a monkeys.

I give about as much thought and consideration about what Tom Cruise is doing as Fred Bloggs at the end of my street, it's just information that's completely useless to 99.9% of the people who receive it.

Yes, something involving creation or termination of life (baby/death), I can understand, but simply judging someone is not something I find entertaining or interesting. It's their life/body, they can do whatever they see fit to it. I don't drink (well, champaigne on occassions, sometimes a strongbow or 2 in the evening), don't smoke, don't do drugs, but I associate with people who do 1, 2 or all 3 (only weed lol), I couldn't give 2 monkeys what they choose to do with themselves, if they're good company then I'll probably befriend them, if don't do any of the 3 but are complete *****, then I'll just steer clear.

/rant off. :p

Do you think that's easy for someone in her position? You can't possibly be saying that someone can just drop their entire life, their career, their friends, their husband in this case, everything they've worked for, and call it easy?

Im confused are you saing that the reason of her success in her career, is due to her drugs issue?

What she needs is good counselling to find out the why's, what's, where's, with's etc.
Detoxing is very easy and after a few days you are clean.
Ironically the drug that stays in your body the longest is cannabis.
You've already suggested that one of her biggest problems is her husband so there could be counselled & treated together.
The main one is to ditch the circle of friends of other drug misusers and to find other hobbies.
In my class at college are 7 ex drug misusers and all of them ditched their friends and got new ones so they could stay clean.
It is very easy but you've got to want to do it and they've got the money to do what they like.

I can't help but disagree with you. You make it sound like giving up a class A drug is a piece of pish. It's not, and i don't care what your textbook says, or your tutor, or your class of kids.

Agreed, cutting out the circle of friends, finding new hobbies is an excellent step, but it takes a lot more than that. I would say the best cure, is to cure or help whatever it was that initialy made you take these drugs.

There's no reason for either of them to be in the state they are, they're talented and famous and the only thing theyre getting from being like this is notoriety and attention.

i only ever hear of either of them because they've done something stupid and i can't remember the last time i heard or read about either of them because of their music but then again i'm not exactly looking for it either so i guess its just the sensationalism that i hear about...maybe.

Bleh, they're just impressionable, mentally weak with no determination. If I was to become famous tomorrow, and had loads of money and fans (not sure what I would do yet, can't sing for toffee), and generally lots of people looking at me just wanting to know what I was doing, and my particular circle of friends all did drugs and were like "come on, try some", I would still refuse, even with plenty of money etc. Nearly every celeb with a bad image, except britney, owes it to drugs, I would much prefer the squeaky clean image of beckham or someone.

It's all completely pointless, at what point did Amy Whinehouse think "ah, class A, this will solve/help everything" or "this is a good idea".

I don't even drink coffee! :p

They're not a class of kids.
The 7 ex addicts are at least 40 years old and all agree that detox is easy(ish) but its getting rid of the friends around them thats the problem.
There are 16 in the class and the youngest is about 35 years old.
4 of us have had no drugs problems, 3 are heavy recreational users, 2 are ex alcoholics and 7 are ex addicts.
2 of our 3 tutors were also ex addicts.
We really are getting it from the horses mouth.

Oh and of course, counselling to find out what started it all is a fantastic step and the very first thing you do.

And what misery are they causing you?

There are so many more important issues in the world and all we get is fawning from the music press and general news programmes who are so deluded they actually think she is talented. This latest scandal is testimony to that.

Pete doherty may be a smackhead, but he is a very long way away from talentless.

Everything I have ever heard by him was absolutely appalling. There is no accounting for taste I suppose but in his case I will make an exception.

I agree, but I don't have any sympathy for her for taking the drugs in the first place. People make bad decisions and have to live with them.

I watched ITV news last night and it wouldn't stop going on about how she "Took Class A drugs". This automatically makes people think "OMG Heroin". Which is possibly the most life consuming drug.

Their lives to waste how they see fit to be honest. I would prefer if we didn't have to hear about it on the news but obviously the demand is there otherwise they wouldn't bother reporting it.

This sums it up, nice body, fame ahead of her and then.....

That was 6 months ago she might as well end it now.

I wonder if the Grammys will take away the awards I mean what grammy winner was last seen on the crack pipe, bar whitney houston :D
Crikey, she actually used to be attractive .

Anyway, she's on film taking drugs - lock her up. Modern celebrity news is such a waste of time.

never realised she was so fit to start with lol.

i simply think the fame has just been to much for her, the money shes had she hasnt known what to do with and has just abused herself with drugs. i still think her music is / was pretty good.

has she relised anything recently?
