An interesting way to fix your car

The temperature gauge on my Elise has been reading rather low recently, around the 72c mark, but I've not been too bothered as I was pretty sure it was just the sensor misreading. I finallly decided to drop it off at the garage on Monday morning so on Sunday I went out for a blast in the sunshine just incase I was to be without her for a few days. Cue an hour long blast where I don't think I changed up before the rev limiter once :D and upon my return I noticed that the temperature was up to 90c and the fan hadn't kicked in (previously it had been) I went for a little jaunt round town and the temperature stayed at a nice steady 84c, exactly where it should have been. It's remained well behaved all week so I am going to classify that as a fix :D

Moral of the story, don't take your car to the garage to get it fixed, instead take it for an hour long spanking in the sun and it'll fix itself :p

Good man, blowing out the cobwebs keeps everything tickety-boo!

the elise has one of the stiffest tubs of any sports car in the wolrd, ever. A bike rack, no matter how clever isn't going to do jack ;)

I wasnt talking about a bike rack. I was talking about having a roof put on it like in the first picture.(I hope that wasnt a bike rack :o )

The strength is in the chassis, not the body panels ;)

erm... huh? 6thElement was enquiring about bike racks, Coco was pointing out the weight (rightly so :p).

THe elise in the first picture just has the standard fabric roof on which makes bugger all difference to the stiffness, nor does the hard top. the tub is that stiff.

My feet got soaked taking that photo :D Had is as my wallpaper on my phone for over a year now and I still love it.

Praying that the weather holds out into next week. I'm in London this weekend so will be carless in the sunshine :(
