As far as I heard only the AN8-32X does this. Thats why I bought this, I have 2 7800gtx's in mine, I hear there isn't much advantage at the moment anyway.

Quite right on both counts. The fatality drops to x8 when used in sli, which is what it did when i had my 6800GT's in sli

so il just get both 7900gtx's then and just go for 16 in one lane and 8 in the other surly im only using 1+ 1/2 card then arnt i ??????

No if you go for running in SLI then both lanes will be running at x8.
Only if your running 1 card will the mobo combine the lanes to x16.
If your running 2 cards the mobo splits the lanes to 8 for each card.

Not that it actually matters, really, because there isnt a single card on the market that is actually capable of using the bandwidth provided by 8 PCI-E channels, just like no SATA-II HD is capable of filling SATA-I bandwidth.

Any performance increase is down to the newer chipsets on the 32x mobos. You can run many last-gen cards on a 4x PCI-E slot with no performance hit...
