Ancient Aliens?

Is it?
We know lots of techniques that could be used to build it, we just don't know which specific technique they used. As there's little that survives. I don't find that amazing, it's also why I don't like it when they say things like its a scientific fact we don't know how they built. Well know, what's it got to do with scientific fact and we know how they could build it.

i think it's amazing that we don't know everything, life would be boring...

knowing how WE would build it isn't always the same as how they would have built it all them years ago... just saying

I saw a few moments of that episode whilst scanning through the channels, I started surfing again when Erich Von Daniken popped up.

To mis-quote The Firesign Theatre "During my studies I have found not one shred, ounce nor inkling of wires, therefore I can conclusively prove that the ancient druidic indians were the first truly wireless civilisation."
Or, more succintly, his theories are so wrong it's funny.

Haha I apologise, it was too tempting to post what I did right underneath the video of what you posted :p

Definately the black box; my mate Dave says he's got one. He says it doens't help cut up the stones which would be the really difficult part just move them around.

Pyramids were built by proffessional labour gangs moving the stones around. They know as these gnags graffitied some of the stones they were moving.

by proffessional labour gangs you mean slaves, right?

It doesn't matter which technique they actually used to build it, the fact is there are multiple very straight forward methods they could have used.

There really is no intellectual debate over "how" they could have done it any more as that has been explored, the "why" is far more interesting.

yes the 'why' is far more interesting, but just because you don't care how doesn't mean every other person thinks the same that is all...

for all you know, how they made it has a direct link as to why as well, no one knows how or why.

we can speculate and recreate it as much as we want doesn't mean we are right or wrong because we will probably never know.

You took it totally the wrong way. It's not amazing we don't know how. As in we can't work out the technology used. We can and do know many methods which work. It has nothing to do. With not caring. It's just not amazing that we don't know, as records if even written generally don't survive. So it isn't surfing we don't have it laid out in front off us.

Where did I even remotely say I didn't care? It is incredibly interesting how they did it.

What I was saying is that there is no debate over whether it was technically possible or not because people have proven multiple times, it is possible. That is where this whole "ancient aliens" drivel comes from, people saying that certain structures could not have been created without modern technology.

The only interesting trivia about my life was that I was invited to appear on that show as an expert. I wheel that out a lot. :D

but you didnt go on? may i as what expertise/skillset got you invited?

I wrote an article about Japan's Aokigahara Forest a while back and they wanted to do a show about it. The Forest is uniquely creepy and a hotspot for suicides. You can wander through the place and stumble across people hanging from the trees. The show wanted to link the weirdness of it to aliens (obviously). I didn't really agree with what they were banging on about and I don't consider myself to be an expert on Aokigahara so I turned them down. I'm pretty sure the Aokigahara Jukai episode has been filmed by now and is probably online somewhere.

yeah and i'm also from Mars.

Yes, I'm that sad to lie about not going on a show! :o

I have to say though if any of it did prove true it would be amazing, I don't believe for one moment that it is but it poses food for thought!

I particularly found it interesting on the episode that they talked about angels and demons being extra terrestrials and that if you changed the words in the bible then the biblical texts made more sense.....

Perhaps, but I'd expect to see flying pigs doing aerobatics outside my window before I'd expect that to be possible!
