Annoyed with lack of space

please forgive my ignorance but how would i install them on a different hd if i can't boot in said hard drive and don't have an os on it? i just know i'm going to feel really stupid when you tell me :p

It's as simple as selecting the other drive using the software install process.

as fluff says, when installing things, it'll come up with the 'path' to install to. this starts with the drive letter (so your primary drive where your OS is will be [C:]), so if you add a second drive, we'll give it drive letter [D:] for example. then, when installing new software/games, you change that letter from [C:] to [D:]. now it'll install to the other drive :)

Spot On!

All this lack of space is forcing me to play BFBC2 and Left 4 Dead 2 :D

Steam on an SSD? Now I feel like I have too many games on steam lol, got a few older ones that arent on steam, but 327 of them are on steam (stupid packs giving me floras fruit farm etc. lol)

860gb of games, wow.

btw, can anyone tell me as well if moving the data files of (in this case sc2) a game from my ssd which has already been installed there, to another hard drive will effect its running? i'm guessing it probably would or you would at least have to specify the new location somehow..

also, OP apologies for planting all my foolish question in your thread. hope you don't mind too much :p

Walsandrew, its 860gb free, its 0.97TB of games :P
But to answer your question, while it "may" work, itll **** up the registry entries, but blizzard games are pretty nice in how they put stuff in your registry so you could run regedit and just search for starcraft 2 and change any paths to the new one. Is probably better to just reinstall though, if you have install media that is, if it is instead of downloading id just update the reg entries and give it a go, it might need to re patch or something but that should sort out any dodgy reg entries left over as well.

Got the drive this morning, finally!

Spreading the load now, that gamemanager only moves the folder over it didn't xcopy steam itself with the game folders :(. So i did it manually :D
