Another 275GTX or a 5870??

I would 5870, then you can always add another later and have around the same performance as the 5870X2 (when it finally comes out)

5870 = £300 275 = £150, 275 SLI setup will be better than the 5870 performance wise going by the 285's in SLI v the 5870's, so IMO 275 all the way, £300 notes for less performance is not a good deal.

What res you running at right now ?
Myself I game at 1920x1200 on an i7 920@ 3.6 + a GTX280 OC2 (648Mhz)

Maybe wait and see what the GTX295 drops down to? What else does your system consist of?
I would go with the SLi configuration.
5870 looks to give about the same performance but you'll have to go to the hassle of selling your current card and probably taking a hit in that respect, then you'll need to source one of the Radeons.
Far less hassle just to go with another GTX if you can.

Well i've just sold my standard XFX gtx275 for £135
+ i had £150 set away for a Triplehead2go.I'm going to stop you there.
I have a special medical condition where if i'm exposed to a game at less than 60fps for a prolonged period of time then my heart stops.

Also im guessing the single 5870 would not be as power hungry as 2 GTX 285

Going by them benchmarks it look like SLI 285 hammers a single 5870
