Wherever you go, there you are.
It's ironic that i replied to a post earlier in which someone asked about BFG RMA'S and now i find myself in the same position as the original poster. I must be the unluckiest guy in this forum as this is my second 8800gtx oc2 thats failed in only three months and thats while running at stock speeds.

Has anyone else had this happen to them in such a short time?

I've read on another forum that some people underclocked their 8800gtx oc2 to prevent this very problem but i don't know if there's any truth in this.

Indeed there is truth, I've underclocked OC2 from the factory set 626 to just 620 to avoid crashes etc, isn't a major problem and doesn't bother me but it's still rather odd.

I underclocked mine after i noticed some strange graphic anomalies in cod4 and hellgate london but i fear it's too little too late.

Complain when you send it back about it being your second to die in as many months, you might get a free upgrade ;)

From experience BFG support is very good, i had a turnaround inside a week from them. If it's *** second time, hassle them for an advance replacement as they are supposed to do this if the replacement is faulty, although too much time may have gone by.

Not sure if i want another 8800gtx oc2 as i can't afford the £38 charge from dhl every time i have to rma back to BFG.
What would my chances be of getting a different replacement from them , and if i do what is comparable to my 8800gtx oc2.

£38!

Where are you sending em? =/

They get sent to someplace in Wales.
Plus BFG state in the email they send that you must use a trackable courier service with shipping insurance in the chance that your graphics card gets "lost" while en route.

Royal mail special delivery, insured up to 500 and fully trackable, only about a quid more than first class recorded for under 2kg.

Great stuff, you guys just saved me time and money.
Will be using either royal mail or interparcel from now on, thanks guys.:)
