Just been rang and my bass player is bouncing off the walls. Ever since he could remember he's been a massive KISS fan and he's spent £1000's and £1000's on KISS memorabilia (he's so jealous I went to see them on their first tour here though in 76). He collects anything and everything by them, goes off to watch tribute bands and has obviously a member of the KISS Army for decades. Being a bass player his favourite member is of course Gene Simmons.
This morning he got a call from Gene Simmons himself asking him to come down to a secret location in London (I know) where they will be filming scenes for a Gene Simmons TV program. There are 24 others who have been rung and they will have to dress in make up.
Gene Simmons says that if he tells anybody where the location is and 100's of non invited fans turn up it will be called off.
I know that the big fat blubber will end up crying when he meets him :D

I rang him back and asked him if he thought it may be a prank and he said no because he asked Gene a couple of questions that only he would know. I said well if you know the questions then other people do but he replied that the chances of mates/workmates knowing the answers and speaking exactly like him would be slim.
He's convinced and on wednesday he'll be turning up at ................... nearly got me.

He's been a member of the KISS Army fan club from since the age of seven and of course they have his details for stuff they post out.
He buys loads of stuff from the official site so they know all about him.
Simmons asked to see the records for the most ardent British fans and he was chosen with 24 other saddo's.

I once met Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke) which is something I'd always wanted to do. Bit of a disappointment TBH.

Did the live mixing for Killing Joke in their very early years but I can't remember anything that stood out. They all did as they were told which makes my job easier.

Well it was true, the location was Abbey Road Studios and heres the proof (my bass player is on the right) -

He's just emailed this -

we did 2 hours filming for family jewels series 2. They signed my dvd box set and Gene grabbed me and signed my t-shirt.

I know what he'll be wearing this weekend.
