Another peace process up in smoke - India/Pakistan

So, another budding peace process has been derailed by islamic militants.....

First Hamas starts a fight with Israel just as Israel moved all its troops out of the Gaza strip.

Then Hezbollah starts on Israel after just a few months of peace since Sirael pulled out its troops from the lebanon.

Now....
"NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India has put off peace talks with Pakistan due this week after suspicion for carrying out the Mumbai train bombings fell on Islamist militants based in that country, a top Indian foreign ministry official said on Sunday.

The decision came days after a series of bomb blasts in commuter trains in the country's financial and entertainment hub killed 179 people and wounded hundreds more.

That's a really good question. I think the problem is that when there are several groups with military force, its not their individual interests to have peace.

In violence a milita have power, when the violence stops the general population have more say and the established political groups start to take over

Such a shame as things seemed to have calmed down ever so lightly between them over the years although I supoose deep down I suspect both of them wante a reason to keep fighting.
