Virtualised gaming is way beyond me but I'm sure some OCUKers will find it of use.

And you need GPUs with lots of VRAM.

Didn't linux do a video on it about it a while back. 1 pc Vs 8? gamers
Linus has done many videos with this type of setup and setups with many GPUS and many vms so many people can game or use a single machine to game or work on. Nothing new here. Also people that work in that enviroment already use vms for many things.

There's actually plenty that's new. The differences here are that when Linus Tech Tips did their video each user had their own GPU, they were using workstation (Quadro) GPUs, and they were directly connected to the gaming box. This video uses consumer (Geforce) GPUs, allows you to share one GPU between multiple users, and works over ethernet.

Yes this is basically Xcloud/PS Now/Stadia over LAN.

it makes sense, my 3090 probably has enough horsepower to run several 1080p instances in a VM but each instance will duplicate the VRAM the game needs so VRaM used can climb very quickly
