OK, Machine will be used for the following
- MP3 playback
- Freeview feed and record
- AVI playback
- Occasional browsing
- DVD playback.
It will be connected to a CRT TV, with Scart connections.
Proposed Spec is
- Antec Fusion Black
- Asus P5E-VM HDMI
- Intel 4500 Dual Core
- 2gb Memory (TBC)
- 500GB 3.5" Sata Drive Samsung
- Compro Videomate DVB-E700
- Logitech Harmony 525
- Vista Home Prem
- DVD drive (for now) to be upgraded once the TV get's replaced
- Wireless Keyboard and Integrated mouse (Suggestions please!)
- Wireless card.
Aside from comments on the above, I need some advice on the audio set up. At present I have a Home Cinema system with 5.1 surround. I can lose the DVD part of this, and retain the amp, but it would need to be connected via traditonal audio inputs (red/white can't remember the proper name), so I guess I would lose the 5.1 surround. So I may have to replace the speakers as well. Thoughts?
Also any issues connecting the PC to TV via S-video out to Scart. I realise this is going to make text fuzzy, but it is not going to be used a 'normal' PC much.
edit - Do I need to think about upgrading the fans to keep it quiet?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
