Another 'spec me a car' thread :)

I am always one for saying keep your options open. 2k will buy you a good car but if you set yourself down to just one make and model you will restrict what is available. Garb an autotrader and look at cars in your price range. Then do your online insurance then a viewing. A Focus may very well be the best car but if you cant find a decent one then you could be looking for ever or worse land yourself with a dog.

For 2k I would rather have a one owner 40k Punto than a 130k 5 owner Focus. That is just an example of course that has come completely out of my head but it does happen often.

is a focus really the way to go over a smaller car (fiesta/corsa etc)?

Doesn't the insurance work out a lot cheaper for most people on the Focus than 'typical' young person cars like Corsa/Saxo/Fiesta etc?

(Presuming that less young people drive a Focus, and therefore less crash them... )
