Another spec me a tv thread!

Hey all,

My good lady is twisting my arm for a new tv but being somewhat of a tv noob some advice would be good.
Looking to spend around £500 for a 36" plus unit.
Not sure on plasma vs lcd.
The tv will be used primarily for SD and eventually linking a media server to it for watching films etc. Will definately be some HD usage probably through blue ray and some channels. Sound quality is not a major factor.

Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated as I want to order this asap.

some of the 42 panny plasma screen are around your budget ,im not up on the latest models but last years were great on sd and hd
